On Saturday night, the Vanderbilt Commodores lost 90-64 to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Commodores’ 24th consecutive regular season SEC loss. Much like the previous four games, Vanderbilt couldn’t shoot — the Commodores shot 5-of-30 from three-point range, with two of those coming from walk-on Isaiah Rice and another from Oton Jankovic — players who had combined for seven points this season before Saturday.
The loss tied the SEC record for consecutive conference losses, previously set by Sewanee on its way out of the league from 1938-40. Vanderbilt is now 8-11 on the season, 0-6 in the SEC, and has a trip to Kentucky up next.
