It’s Transfer SZN! The beginning of each semester brings the revelation across many a sport that some athletes are newly enrolled in different schools. For the Track and Field program, that means landing former All American 800m runner, Ruby Stauber, as first reported by The Stride Report.
TRANSFER: Ruby Stauber, a 2:03 All-American 800 meter runner who previously spent time at LSU and Oregon, is now listed on the track and field roster for Vanderbilt.

I confirmed this report with sources close to the program. Stauber, who hasn’t competed in two-three years, was at Oregon. Before, she was a 2:03 800m runner at LSU.
Soon she will have surgery for nagging injuries incurred during her time in Eugene, so her ability to compete for the Dores immediately is doubtful.
However, if she does make a full recovery, she will be a valuable asset to the program that has boasted nationally competitive and All American 800m runners under Sprints Coach, Donnie Young.
It appears Vanderbilt has become a known quantity in the TF world for being able to develop individual national talent while competing in the best conference for TF.
