Vanderbilt Football Mail Bag: Call For Submissions

Send VANDERBILT and/or SEC FOOTBALL questions to andrewvu04@gmail.com.

Letters... we get letters... we get sacks and sacks of letters...

No, we didn’t reanimate Dan McGugin (as the cover photo might suggest), but we are just under two weeks away from Vanderbilt football. Beyond that, with the Gainesville Jorts facing off with the Miami Fightin’ Luther Campbell Memorial Bagmen on Saturday 8/24 at 6pm CT on ESPN, this is the last weekend you will have to endure without being able to shoot that sweet sweet amateurism (citation needed) straight into your veins.

For this occasion, I am reopening the mailbag by logging into my AOG email (andrewvu04@gmail.com) for the first time since WE WON THE COLLEGE BASEBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE 2ND TIME THIS DECADE.

*Note: The only email in there (other than spam) was from a Texas Tech fan who decided to write a five page screed about this article, which only served to prove he didn’t get the jokes. (Actual line from said email: “During my four years attending Texas Tech, I wasn’t in the Witness Relocation Program”).

(slaps forehead)

Here are the rules of the mailbag:

  1. This is a football mailbag, so limit your questions to Vanderbilt football, SEC football, college football, “feetball,” the former Vanderbilt commercial with all the feet in it, and/or Rex Ryan.
  2. Send your questions to andrewvu04@gmail.com by Tuesday (I will post the calls for submissions as reminders on Sunday or Monday each week). You may also post your questions here in the comments. Just post them in the body of the comment, with the subject line: “Question for the mail bag.”
  3. I will collate the best of said emails/questions in the comments, and cull ones that deal with the same topic (so we don’t have to repeat ourselves multiple times weekly). Then, all Anchor of Gold writers will get the opportunity to chime in. The answers will be published on Thursday or Friday.
  4. All Anchor of Gold community guidelines apply to the questions. Our basic rule is “don’t be the worst.” Chuggers fans violate this like it’s their birth right.
  5. Jeff Green travelled.

...and that’s it.

*Note: Questions about other SEC football teams are welcome, too. We just won’t know as much about them, and will likely respond with juvenile, biased trash talk.

I will do this weekly as long as the questions keep coming in. If they dry up, no post. I’m not mad, just disappointed.
