It’s June, which in Derek Mason’s five-year tenure has usually meant commitment season. Vanderbilt is now up to five in the 2020 recruiting class, and now has its second this week, as IMG Academy defensive tackle Jordan Butler announced his commitment on Friday afternoon.
Butler, a 6’4”, 300-pounder who’s originally from Las Vegas and played at Desert Pines High School before transferring to IMG, is rated as a three-star recruit by both Rivals and 247 Sports. The latter ranks him as the #69 (nice) recruit in the state of Florida, the #37 defensive tackle prospect, and the #439 overall prospect in the class. That makes him the highest-rated recruit currently in Vanderbilt’s class. In addition to Vanderbilt, Butler also held offers from Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pittsburgh, and USC.
Here is Butler’s highlight film:
Have fun, expect to win, and Anchor Down.
