We’re now 85 days away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against Georgia. #85 on the roster is tight end Gavin Schoenwald, who committed back in June of 2017 and then got to work on getting his friends Cam Johnson and Darius Garland to come along. Schoenwald redshirted in his first year on campus and enters the fall behind Jared Pinkney on the depth chart at tight end.
The Nashville Super Regional, allegedly, will get underway today at 5:00 PM CT on ESPN2, though the weather forecast may have a few things to say about that (thunderstorms? Thunderstorms.) Vanderbilt will play the first of two or three games against Duke; the Commodores are considered heavy favorites by the oddsmakers, but how could this go wrong?
Pole vaulter Kristen Denk was named a first team All-American.
Several Vanderbilt golfers will take part in the Arnold Palmer Cup, which opens today at the Alotian Country Club in Little Rock.
