In each of the last four recruiting classes, Vanderbilt has landed a player from South Florida football powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. In 2016, it was DB Frank Coppet. A year later, Vanderbilt signed OL Grant Miller. In 2018, OL/DL Tyler Steen, and last year, OL Julian Hernandez (in addition to junior college transfers Dontye Carriere-Williams and Lashawn Paulino-Bell, who both prepped at Aquinas.)
Wednesday night, Vanderbilt got the latest tribute from the pipeline.

We know that Derek Mason likes length on the defensive side of the ball and 6’4”, 228-pound Griffin Lampton has that. Rivals considers him an “athlete” and the #95 recruit in the state of Florida; 247 Sports rates him as the #48 weakside defensive end prospect in the class and #131 in Florida, #1097 overall. Vanderbilt likes him to play outside linebacker in Derek Mason’s 3-4 scheme. He is the fourth commitment in the Commodores’ 2020 recruiting class.
Here is Lampton’s highlight film:
