The Vanderbilt baseball team has won eleven in a row.

The Vanderbilt baseball team swept South Carolina over the weekend, winning both games of Sunday’s doubleheader. J.J. Bleday hit his 23rd home run of the season, setting a new Vanderbilt single-season record in the process. The Commodores have won 11 straight and are now 38-9 overall, and are in sole possession of first place in the SEC at 18-6. Vanderbilt moved up to No. 3 in the Top 25.

Women’s tennis beat Georgia Tech 4-0 over the weekend to advance to the Sweet 16.

Women’s golf opens the Auburn regional today at 8 AM. They’ll be paired with Duke and Florida State in the first round.

Former Vanderbilt basketball player Yanni Wetzell announced a transfer to San Diego State. Meanwhile, the Commodores picked up a commitment from Kenyon Martin Jr. on Sunday.

Off the West End

The NBA Playoffs are getting wild: the Raptors won 101-96 to tie their series with Philly up at 2. The Denver Nuggets did the same with a 116-112 win at Portland. Tonight: Bucks-Celtics at 6, Warriors-Rockets at 8:30.

Over in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the St. Louis Blues forced a Game 7 with a 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars. Tonight: Bruins-Blue Jackets at 6, Sharks-Avalanche at 9.

Max Homa, who made two cuts all season on the PGA Tour a couple of years ago, won the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora is skipping out on a White House trip. The Cincinnati Reds homered on three straight pitches (off Jeff Samardzija, because of course it was off Jeff Samardzija.)
