On the eve of the SEC baseball tournament, Vanderbilt got some additional hardware after claiming the SEC regular season title.

J.J. Bleday had a monster junior season, which included setting a Vanderbilt single-season record with 25 home runs, a number that he will have a chance to add to in Hoover this week and in the NCAA Tournament. That effort was awarded with the SEC Player of the Year trophy.
Meanwhile, Tim Corbin was named the SEC Coach of the Year for the third time after piloting Vanderbilt to a 45-10 overall record and a 23-7 SEC mark. One might argue that the Commodores, who were picked #1 or #2 in the country in the preseason, merely did what they were supposed to — but ask LSU (who was picked #1 by those who didn’t pick Vanderbilt) about how easy it is to do what you’re supposed to.
Vanderbilt will open the SEC Tournament on Wednesday.
