Well, last year’s midweek curse continued on Wednesday. Vanderbilt lost an extra-inning game to Austin Peay, just its second loss of the season.

But the Commodores followed that up with a three-game sweep of Dayton over the weekend, improving their record to 9-2 this season. They’re back up to #1 in the country in some outlets — thanks in part to LSU getting swept at Texas — and now they welcome Davidson to the Hawk.

Davidson is 6-3 but hasn’t really played anybody outside of a single game against Duke, which they lost 7-3. Chance Huff is scheduled to get the start for Vanderbilt. Game time temperatures are expected to be in the 30s.
