It’s 25 degrees in Nashville this morning, and the No. 3 ranked Vanderbilt Commodores are teeing off 2,000 miles away at the Querencia Golf Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where it is sunny and 78 degrees.

It is the second day of the event, which started Sunday. Vanderbilt is fifth after the first round with a team score of -3, 285. The ‘Dores are just one shot out of fourth place and 12 shots off of the leader, Arizona State. The complete scoreboard is here.

John Augenstein, Will Gordon, and Reid Davenport all were under par for in the first round.

The Querencia Golf Club is a 6,924 track along the coast of Mexico.

The tournament seems to be a great gathering of elite golf schools from around the US during the Spring Break season, when many schools are looking to get out of poor weather conditions and ramp up competition going into the final stretch of the regular season.

Overall, the tournament looks like a great experience. It even has a taco bar. Check out the photos from past years to keep you warm as the polar vortex swoops down into the continental US this week.
