Four days ago, former Vanderbilt star Wade Baldwin IV played for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Two days ago, Baldwin played for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Yesterday, Baldwin played for the Houston Rockets.
And today, Baldwin plays for the Indiana Pacers.
Welcome to the NBA Trade Deadline, where “expiring contracts” and “cap space” and “luxury tax” are terms that get thrown around. Wade Baldwin and Nik Stauskas — his teammate with the Blazers, Cavaliers, Rockets, and Pacers — are getting thrown into trades not for reasons having to do with their ability to play basketball.
This is true silliness. Wade Baldwin is in his third year in the NBA, and is now on his fifth team, three of them being teams he has never played a minute of basketball for.
UPDATE: And apparently, Wade is promptly getting waived by the Pacers.
