Anchor Drop, December 4, 2019: Easy win for basketball

We had forgotten what that feels like.

Good morning.

Vanderbilt basketball got a surprising 90-76 win over Buffalo last night, behind a career-high 25 points from Saben Lee and more importantly, Isaiah Rice’s first career field goal (which actually came at an important time, by the way, and not during garbage time.)

In bad news for the women’s basketball team, Brinae Alexander, the team’s second-leading scorer, has a ruptured Achilles tendon.

At the Nashville Post, Michael Gallagher writes that Vanderbilt football is looking at an offensive overhaul next season. I mean, that can’t be a bad thing, right?

In a new VandySports podcast, Chris Lee and George Plaster discuss whether Vanderbilt football has hit rock bottom yet.

And finally, Carlton Lorenz announced via Twitter that he will be leaving as a graduate transfer. What does it tell you that this news is coming at the tail end of the Anchor Drop instead of in its own post?
