The Vanderbilt Commodores look to rebound from their second loss of the season as they welcome the Buffalo Bulls to Memorial Gym, for the team’s final game before an 11-day break for finals.
Last year, the Bulls went 32-4 and lost to Texas Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament; this year, Buffalo seems to have clearly taken a step back with the loss of its top three scorers and head coach Nate Oats (now at Alabama.) Jim Whitesell, who previously coached Loyola-Chicago from 2004-11, is the head coach now, and the Bulls have four players averaging in double figures led by junior Jayvon Graves. MTSU grad transfer Antwain Johnson and Texas Tech transfer Josh Mballa both average 10.9 ppg, and senior Davonta Jordan is the second-leading scorer with 13.4 ppg. More importantly, the Bulls average 81.0 ppg — which is actually just behind Vanderbilt’s average of 81.3 ppg.
In other words, this should be a fun game. Anchor Down, and have fun in the comments.
