Long Snapper

High School: Pearl-Cohn
Rivals: Two-star recruit
247 Sports: #3439 national recruit, #9 long snapper, #106 prospect in Tennessee
Competing Power 5 offers: None
The lone in-state prospect in Vanderbilt’s 2020 early signing class is Wesley Schelling, a long snapper from nearby Pearl-Cohn High School — the same school that produced four current Commodores (Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Cam Watkins, Brayden DeVault-Smith, and Jayden Harrison.)
I admit to knowing nothing about long snapping, but just know that Schelling is ranked #6 nationally by the people who know special teams: Kohl’s Kicking and Punting, which says he has a “massive frame and some of the smoothest mechanics.” All right then. Anyway, I assume Vanderbilt’s kickers and punters will like that.
Anchor Down, Wesley.
