Vanderbilt’s offense in recent years has made frequent use of the tight end (ahem... not so much in 2019), so naturally, there’s a tight end in this year’s class. On Wednesday, Vanderbilt signed Diego LaMonica, a 6’4”, 226-pound tight end from Gulliver Prep in Miami.
LaMonica has good agility for his size; he also played basketball in high school. At 227 pounds, he’ll likely need to add some weight to be an effective blocker, but that seems like a decent bet. I can’t seem to find stats anywhere on the internet, but let’s just trust that a guy from south Florida with a decent offer list is a good get for Vanderbilt.
Anchor Down, Diego.
