Good morning.
Vanderbilt soccer takes on South Carolina tonight at 6:00 PM CT, in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama. Tonight’s match will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
You’ve probably already heard, but the Jerry Stackhouse era of Vanderbilt basketball opened with a win, 83-65 over Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday night. Aaron Nesmith led all scorers with 25 points and Saben Lee had 21. Clevon Brown also had a career high with 15 points. Nesmith and Lee are probably going to have to carry this team for now, but a win is a win.
In some football news, Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Kalija Lipscomb, and Jared Pinkney have all been invited to the Senior Bowl. I’m sure Vanderbilt has had three players in the Senior Bowl before, but it’s definitely been a while. Also, it looks like Vanderbilt is now on its third starting quarterback of the season with either Deuce Wallace or Allan Walters set to start at Florida.
A day after doing the women’s team, the Hustler has a roster preview of the men’s basketball team. They also published SEC basketball power rankings, where they rank 13th, but the team they ranked 14th isn’t actually an SEC team so I guess we’re last.
VandySports did a podcast with Norman Jordan.
