Welcome back!

The Vanderbilt Commodores open the 2019-20 season with a new coach and, uh, something resembling hope that the 20-game losing streak that the team closed out the last season on will end soon. Actually, it should probably end tonight: the Southeast Missouri State RedHawks (formerly known as the Indians, as you might have guessed based on the ultra-cool 1990s logo pictured above) are not a very good basketball team. Last season, the RedHawks, under fifth-year head coach Rick Ray (yes, the same Rick Ray who used to coach Mississippi State), went 10-21 and actually failed to qualify for the Ohio Valley Conference tournament, which only takes the top eight teams.
