The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team picked up its first SEC win of the season last time out, an 80-68 win over Ole Miss that improved the Commodores to 6-13 on the season and 1-5 in the SEC.
Monday night will be more challenging. The Commodores travel to South Carolina, which is currently ranked 16th in the latest AP poll, with a 13-5 overall record and 5-1 SEC record. The Gamecocks got off to a bit of a rough start (by their lofty standards) but have won nine of their last ten. They’ve won by an average of 13.9 ppg over that stretch, with the lone loss coming to a Top 10 Mississippi State team.
This has been a brutal season for the Commodores, but they’ve had a couple of solid performances in a row, narrowly losing to Auburn before beating Ole Miss. Tonight’s game will tip off at 6:00 PM CT and will be televised on the SEC Network.
