For several years, we’ve had a stupid battle with the SEC over whether or not the Vanderbilt Commodores’ spring “showcase” at the tail end of spring practice is a “spring game” that should be televised on the SEC Network like the other 13 schools’ are.
That won’t be an issue this year. Vanderbilt announced on Friday that, yes, we will have a spring game this year. The game — still, really, just a glorified practice in all likelihood — will be held on March 30. Time and broadcast information are unknown at this time, but we can only assume the SEC Network will elect to televise this now that we’re calling it a spring game.
Glad we won’t be having that stupid debate any more.
