The Vanderbilt Track and Field Team hosts their first event of the semester and second of the indoor season Friday and Saturday at the Indoor facility.
22 teams are expected to participate including SEC opponents Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
This year’s team looks to capitalize on their seniority and experience in several events. One area is the pole vault.
The squad of Kristen Denk, Caliegh Laufstead, and Maragaret Ollinger have put together solid resumes last outdoor season. Denk was All SEC Indoor and Outdoor, and an Outdoor Second Team All American.
She continued her vault (pun intended!) into the Vanderbilt record books at the Indoor opener in December, where she won the PV and tied the school record.
Denk matched a school record with a personal-best 4.25 meters (13’ 11.5”) in pole vault at the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener!— Vanderbilt XC • Track & Field (@vandyxctrack) December 13, 2018
