Good morning. We’re just two days away from the season opener against Middle Tennessee. #2 on the roster is Frank Coppet, a redshirt sophomore defensive back who’s starting at safety (or is listed as such on the depth chart) with Zaire Jones out.

Nashville native Ke’Shawn Vaughn is back home after transferring from Illinois, and Zac Ellis writes about how ready he is to kill MTSU. (Okay, I just like to imagine that’s what is going through his head.)

The Tennessean explains why Vandy is only favored by 3 over Middle (hint: IT’S THE SAME REASON THE MEDIA ALWAYS PICKS US SEVENTH IN THE SEC EAST) and also details how Georgia and Kentucky are paying Middle close to $3 million combined instead of doing like we did and kicking their ass in Murfreesboro rather than writing a check.

TSK thinks we’re going 5-7.

Off the West End

Aaaaaand the ongoing Ohio State saga gets dumber.

Cleveland Browns LB Mychal Kendricks was released after admitting to insider trading, which is interesting considering that the Browns’ owner recently paid out a large sum of cash in exchange for avoiding prosecution for fraud. (He also indirectly caused the hilarious UT coaching search, but we aren’t holding that against him.)

Also: REAL FOOTBALL tonight. There’s one SEC game on tonight with Texas A&M hosting Northwestern State, which... snooze. Probably the biggest game of the night has Northwestern visiting Purdue at 7 PM CT on ESPN. The most AoG game of the night, however, is Wake Forest at Tulane — also at 7 PM on CBS Sports Network.
