Good morning.
We’re seven days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Middle Tennessee. There are two 7’s on this year’s roster. Redshirt freshman LB Dimitri Moore was thought to be in the mix for early playing time last season, but wound up redshirting due to injury. True freshman WR Cam Johnson is one of the highest-rated recruits in this year’s class, and also is friends with Darius Garland.
Vanderbilt basketball released its full regular season schedule on Thursday, a day after the nonconference schedule was released. Interestingly, the Commodores will play five of their first seven SEC games at Memorial Gym.
Soccer surrendered a goal to Miami’s Gudrun Haralz in the 3rd minute last night, but came back with a pair of late goals: Myra Konte scored the equalizer in the 79th minute, then Haley Hopkins scored the winner in the 87th minute for a 2-1 win in the team’s home opener. Vanderbilt is now 2-1 on the season and will play Ohio on Sunday.
Baseball will host Oklahoma State in a fall series on October 20-21.
Men’s golf is ranked fifth in the preseason coaches’ poll, released Friday.

Off the West End
I am at a loss to figure out how Urban Meyer is so bad at this.
So, Maryland’s football coach apparently hired an attorney for two players accused of sexual assault, which doesn’t sound like an NCAA violation at all.
Caleb Scott had two catches for 69 yards in the Seahawks’ preseason loss to the Vikings — one of which was a 55-yard catch as time expired that came up just short of the end zone.
