I hate to break it to you, but I was told I couldn’t turn this fall’s prospect camp into a fantasy camp for us. Something about it being a “liability” to have boozed up men in their 30s with bats in their hands around children, and blah blah blah. We get it, you hate fun.
Let’s just say my pitch was received as well as Ned from Detroiters trying to sell commercial ideas to Viagra.
As Ned would say when companies turn down his ad pitches, “But they’re wrong!”
Regardless, we still have a reason to visit The Hawk in October, as the week before prospect camp, the Boys will host former hitting coach Josh Holliday and his Oklahoma State Cowboys for two scrimmages.

The Cowboys went 31-26-1 last year, and were a tournament team—losing the battle of styles of hats to Stetson in the Deland Regional.
There really is no downside to scheduling a scrimmage against a tournament team, as our young guns like Kumar “Harold” Rocker and Austin “Big Walnut” Becker will get to test their mettle against some solid competition.
So I say if they won’t let us have a Fantasy Camp, let’s just tailgate the ever-loving hell out of a couple scrimmages in October.
It will be a bit of a homecoming for Holliday. Let’s hope the boys of Delta welcome him properly.
