Good morning.
We’re 30 days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Middle Tennessee. #30 on the roster is freshman linebacker Salua Masina. Masina, a late addition to the 2018 signing class, once had eight sacks in a single game at Brighton High School in Salt Lake City.
And we’re also a day away from the start of fall camp. Can you feel the season right around the corner? It’s still 30 days away. Derek Mason will address the media at 1:30 PM CT today, and you can watch on Vanderbilt Athletics’ Facebook page.
Adam Sparks got his hands on some really good stuff and then wrote an article about how Vanderbilt can win each of the 12 games on its schedule.
Men’s golf released its schedule for the 2018-19 regular season on Wednesday. The Commodores will open the season at the Carmel Cup the first weekend of September.
Off the West End
Urban Meyer’s Ohio State tenure may be coming to an end. The Buckeyes’ boss is on paid administrative leave while the university investigates a possible coverup of domestic abuse by one of Meyer’s assistants.
Meanwhile, Tennessee fans think they’re vindicated by the fact that Ohio State chose someone other than Greg Schiano to run practice for the time being.
You can now legally bet on sporting events in Mississippi.
