Tracking Vanderbilt’s 2019 Commitments: High School Football, Week 1

It feels early, but high school football kicked off in a few states this weekend. Six of Vanderbilt’s 12 Class of 2019 commitments played football; Alabama (home to four of Vanderbilt’s commitments) will kick off its season next weekend, while Texas still doesn’t kick off for two weeks.

RB commit Delbert Mimms III ran 10 times for 77 yards and three touchdowns in Ben Davis’s 51-6 win over Indianapolis Arsenal Tech.

DB commit Jayden Harrison helped lead Pearl-Cohn to a 65-0 win over RePublic.

Devin Boddie and Whitehaven beat Fairley, 35-0, on Saturday night. No highlights or stats that I can find.

DE commit Christian James’ Christian Brothers team traveled down to Mississippi and beat Grenada, 7-0.

TE commit Jeffrey Blake’s Norcross team beat Atlanta Mays 42-26 on Saturday night.

TE commit Joel DeCoursey caught 3 passes for 53 yards, but Zionsville lost to Indianapolis Pike 27-19 on Friday night.
