Anchor Drop, August 17, 2018: 15 Days

Good morning.

We’re 15 days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Middle Tennessee. #15 on the roster is redshirt sophomore DB Elijah Hamilton, who played in a few games as a backup cornerback in 2017, and freshman QB Allan Walters, who was a four-star recruit until he committed to Vanderbilt, at which time the recruiting services downgraded him to a three-star.

Vanderbilt soccer lost its season opener to Florida State, 1-0, in spite of five saves by goalkeeper Lauren DeMarchi. The Commodores got just two shots on goal.

Senior golfer Will Gordon advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur after winning two matches on Thursday. John Augenstein and Harrison Ott lost in the round of 32.
