Good morning.

We’re 17 days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Middle Tennessee. #17 on the roster is redshirt freshman linebacker Feleti Afemui. At 6’3” and 230 pounds, the kid from Maui will be in the mix for playing time at inside linebacker this season.

Vanderbilt golfers Will Gordon, John Augenstein, and Harrison Ott advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur on Tuesday, with the fourth Commodore in the event (Patrick Martin) playing in a 24-man playoff on Wednesday morning for the final spot.

Zac Ellis has your football practice report from Tuesday. Included are interviews with defensive coordinator Jason Tarver and offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig.

Vanderbilt soccer is picked to finish ninth in the SEC by the league’s coaches. The Commodores open the regular season tomorrow at Florida State.

In case you missed it, Joe Rexrode called out Nick Zeppos in a column at the Tennessean.

Apparently telling the umpire that you want him replaced by a robot gets you ejected.

LSU lost a QB to transfer.

ESPN has its SEC preview up, which somehow makes no mention of Vanderbilt.
