Good morning.

We’re 37 days away from Vanderbilt’s season opener against Middle Tennessee. Vanderbilt does not currently have a #37 on the roster.

The NCAA allows multiple players to wear the same jersey number. This makes sense in the context of some other SEC schools, which, when counting walk-ons, often have more than 100 players on the roster and simply have to assign multiple players the same uniform number because there aren’t enough numbers for everyone to have their own. We, on the other hand, do not have anybody wearing 1, 35, 37, 49, 52, 53, 59, 60, 62, 65, 68, 69, 70, 75, 79, 85, or 95, but we do have players wearing the same jersey number. I don’t get this,

It’s July 26, so the main news of the day is that Vanderbilt now has a Director of Sports Nutrition, Blair Hitchcock. Ms. Hitchcock is Vanderbilt’s first-ever full-time registered dietician.
