Day 1 of the annual SEC media-and-coaches get-together came and went with a... well, maybe not a whimper, but there certainly weren’t any big headlines. Take it away, Vol Twitter Scarecrow Dan Wolken:
Lukewarm take: College football media days were really important before social media, specialty Web sites and 24-hour sports networks. Now, college football gets covered year round. They are antiquated and kinda useless.

Pretty much. If you’re a regular consumer of any media outlet that covers the SEC (no, Anchor of Gold doesn’t count; we only really cover Vanderbilt), there’s really nothing new happening. You knew all of this. Although Adam Sparks did ask a question of SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
Sankey asked by @AdamSparks about revenue brought in from athletics and used for things other than athletics. I wonder which school Sparks may be referencing?

Answer: he’s talking about the 13 schools in the SEC that aren’t Vanderbilt, which absolutely aren’t spending any of the revenue brought in by athletics on anything other than athletics. There, solved that riddle for you. Really, though, most of the news is stuff like this:
