Good morning.
And it’s a really good morning if you’re following the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Vanderbilt baseball team opens the SEC Tournament at 9:30 AM CT today against the Texas A&M Aggies. Vanderbilt did not play Texas A&M in the regular season; on the year, the Aggies are 36-19 overall and 13-17 in the SEC. This is the stupid part of the SEC Tournament: it goes single-elimination today, then double elimination after four teams are elimination... and then back to single elimination in the semifinals starting on Saturday.
Vanderbilt will pitch freshman RHP Tyler Brown (1-3, 6.07), who has only made one start and thrown 29.2 innings this season. That’s... ballsy, though I guess if you just assume Vanderbilt doesn’t need any more wins to make the NCAA Tournament (or if you’re confident you’ll beat Texas A&M either way) then it makes sense not to use one of your weekend starters today. Anyway, today’s game, like the rest of the SEC Tournament, will be televised on the SEC Network.
Women’s tennis beat Georgia Tech, 4-2, on Monday and will play Stanford for the NCAA Championship at noon CT today. Just one more game and we’ll have our second national title in as many months for the athletic department.
This is your live thread for the morning. There’s a good chance I will be in trial at my real job all week so I probably won’t be around. Don’t go too crazy in here.

(At least they stopped showing a picture of Kevin from the Office when you Google “Kevin Stallings.”)
