Also, baseball loses to Louisville. Let’s not focus on that though.

Good morning.

The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team is the #1 overall seed in this month’s NCAA Tournament, after sweeping both the SEC regular season and tournament titles. That’s not really a surprise after the Commodores moved to #1 in the polls last week, but this is still a first for the program. Vanderbilt will host Ohio State, Clemson, and Alabama State in a regional beginning on May 11.

Meanwhile, men’s tennis also made the tournament and will be the 2-seed in the Champaign Regional, where they’ll join Illinois, Drake, and Marquette. The Commodores open against Drake at noon CT on May 12.

Baseball lost 8-4 to Louisville on Tuesday in the Battle of the Barrel, their third straight loss to Louisville. The Commodores drop to 25-19 on the season, though they’re still in strong shape to make the NCAA Tournament (but probably not to host a regional.)

Vanderbilt’s 2018 Coaches Caravan starts today at the Legends Club in Franklin, with three more stops later this month.

Off the West End

The Predators lost to Winnipeg 7-4 last night, falling behind in the series 2-1. Ugh.

In the NBA, the Cavaliers beat the Raptors in Game 1, and the Warriors took a 2-0 lead over the Pelicans.

This Trevor Bauer-Astros spat is fun.
