Top recruit Romeo Langford chooses Indiana over Vanderbilt and Kansas

Vanderbilt’s 2018 recruiting class will only include two McDonald’s All-Americans.

It had been somewhat expected for several weeks that top ten recruit Romeo Langford would choose Indiana over his other two finalists, Vanderbilt and Kansas, and that was just what Langford did on Monday night in a ceremony at his high school in New Albany, Indiana.

Langford had named his top three back in November and it was long thought that Langford was going to be either a Hoosier or a Commodore, as he made unofficial visits to those two schools during the season. Kansas did not get a visit during the season; there was briefly some buzz around that program after guards Malik Newman and LaGerald Vick declared for the NBA Draft, but that was quickly popped by news that Kansas was now involved in the FBI investigation into college basketball.

At the end of the day, though, Langford could not resist the call of his home state school.

Yep. How could you resist the siren call of the Sellersburg Taco Bell?

In any case, Vanderbilt’s 2018 recruiting class still includes Darius Garland, Simi Shittu, and Aaron Nesmith, and said class is still ranked 12th nationally and still includes two McDonald’s All-Americans, which is two more than we had signed... well, ever. We are fine with this.
