Good morning. The Vanderbilt baseball team will be taking part in the Dodger Stadium Baseball Classic this weekend. At 8:00 PM CT tonight, the Commodores will take on UCLA. That will be followed by USC at 6:00 PM CT on Saturday, and TCU at 12:30 PM CT on Sunday. As you might have guessed, the games will be played at Dodger Stadium, completing Vanderbilt’s tour of the 2017 World Series ballparks.
The women’s lacrosse team beat La Salle 11-10 in double overtime, improving to 5-1 on the season.
Today, the men’s tennis team will host Ole Miss at 4 PM CT, while the women’s tennis team travels to Missouri at 3:30 PM CT, in a match that Vanderbilt’s team site erroneously lists as an SEC game.
Football season tickets just went on sale. Vanderbilt has also produced a fan guide in advance of the football team’s September 15 trip to Notre Dame, for those of you interested in going to South Bend.
David Sisk of Vanderbilt’s Rivals site had this to say yesterday:
Expect movement on the Vanderbilt roster in the next few days. We look for at least two players to transfer out in the very near future. @VandySportscom

So... do with that what you will.

The Preds made it 10 in a row last night.
Pittsburgh fired its head coach, which for some reason is of interest to us. Not only was he fired, but he got paid nearly $10 million to go away. One Pittsburgh site indicates that he’s going to retire from coaching basketball, presumably to roll around in a pile of cash.
This might be the last Anchor Drop until next Friday. I have no idea what my internet access will look like in Italy... but the flight’s at 4 PM today.
