The SEC announced its postseason awards on Tuesday, and Vanderbilt wasn’t completely shut out.
Jeff Roberson was named to the All-SEC Second Team after leading Vanderbilt with 17.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg, and 1.5 apg while shooting 48.2 percent from the floor and 85.2 percent from the foul line. The 6’6” senior from Houston provided a scoring threat both inside and outside the arc, and led the team in scoring and rebounding while starting 30 of Vanderbilt’s 31 regular season games.
While Roberson did get honored with the selection, Vanderbilt was otherwise shut out of the awards. It’s hard to complain about a 12-19 team mostly getting shut out, though Saben Lee not being named to the All-Freshman team feels like a bit of a snub, particularly when Texas A&M’s T.J. Starks is on said team.
