NCAA Football: Georgia at Vanderbilt Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Vanderbilt held its Spring Showcase yesterday. I didn’t watch, but Adam Sparks came away impressed with junior WR Kalija Lipscomb, who had 133 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day (stats weren’t official.) Ohio State transfer Alex Stump also caught a touchdown pass.

Crediting Sparks, senior QB Kyle Shurmur went 8-for-13 for 104 yards and a touchdown; sophomore Deuce Wallace went 11-for-21 for 147 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception. On the defensive side of the ball, sophomore Tae Daley had an interception.

The rain also postponed the baseball game between Vanderbilt and LSU. LSU led 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth before the game was suspended. The game will resume at 10 AM CT today, with game three scheduled for noon.

Women’s golf remains in fifth place at the Clemson Invitational after Saturday’s play. Women’s bowling was eliminated from the Southland conference tournament after losses to Stephen F. Austin and Arkansas State.

Today, women’s lacrosse is at Butler at 11:00 AM CT. Men’s tennis visits Auburn, while women’s tennis hosts Georgia; both tennis matches start at 1:00 PM CT.

Off the West End

Loyola-Chicago and Michigan are in the Final Four. Today, Villanova plays Texas Tech, while Duke plays Kansas for the last tickets to San Antonio.

Nashville SC drew Pittsburgh, 0-0, in its first home game.
