Game 23: Vanderbilt Commodores at Auburn Tigers -- GameThread

Vanderbilt is a 12-point underdog against Auburn, which should tell you a lot about how this season is going for both teams.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Here was the Vanderbilt Commodores' starting five the last time they lost to the Auburn Tigers:

  • Ross Neltner
  • JeJuan Brown
  • Derrick Byars
  • Shan Foster
  • Ted Skuchas (SKOOOOOOCH!)

Yep, it's been a while. January 6, 2007, in fact. Vanderbilt has won 13 straight against Auburn, which is a streak that's probably going to end tonight. Vanderbilt heads to Auburn Arena at 7:30 PM CT tonight sporting a 8-14 overall record, a 2-7 record in the SEC, and a #87 ranking in KenPom. Auburn, meanwhile, is 20-2, 8-1 in the SEC, ranked #11 (and rising) in the AP poll, and #9 in KenPom. KenPom predicts and 85-71 win for the Tigers, with Vanderbilt being given just a 10% chance of winning. The guys in Vegas are a little more friendly toward Vanderbilt's chances, tabbing the Commodores as a 12-point underdog.

Tonight's game will be broadcast on the SEC Network and the WatchESPN app, with Dave Neal and Jimmy Dykes on the call. Joe Fisher's call can be heard on the Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network.
