Good morning. The Vanderbilt Commodores’ men’s basketball team will honor seniors Riley LaChance, Jeff Roberson, and Matthew Fisher-Davis prior to tonight’s game against the Missouri Tigers, the final home game of the season. Tonight’s game tips off at 6:00 PM CT and will be televised on ESPN2 and the WatchESPN app. Regarding Missouri, there are persistent rumors that future lottery pick Michael Porter Jr. will play tonight.
The football team kicked off spring practice yesterday. VandySports.com noted in a free article that fullback Bailey McElwain and CB Bryce Lewis were not on the spring roster. McElwain was present in sweats, and Derek Mason hopes to have him medically cleared to play in the fall after missing the entire 2017 season. As for Lewis, Mason said his playing career is done but he will return as a student assistant. Adam Sparks also has a report.
Also today, the baseball team hosts Austin Peay at 4:00 PM CT, and lacrosse hosts Louisville at 3:00 PM CT. Neither game will be televised or streaming.
Off the West End
Future Alabama quality control analyst Butch Jones. I don’t know why that sentence is humorous.
The Predators acquired Ryan Hartman from the Chicago Blackhawks, for those of you who are into hockey.
Michigan State’s Miles Bridges paid $40 to charity to restore his eligibility.
The NFL wants Jerry Jones to reimburse it for legal fees. Yeah, good luck with that.
