Vanderbilt Commodores (3-4, 0-3 SEC) at Kentucky Wildcats (5-1, 3-1 SEC)
When: 6:30 PM CT, Saturday, October 20, 2018
Where: Kroger Field, Lexington, Kentucky
TV: SEC Network/WatchESPN
Radio: Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network
Most of Vanderbilt’s all-time series against SEC East opponents are pretty one-sided. This one’s not. Kentucky leads the all-time series 44-42-4, and since 2000, Vanderbilt is 7-11 against the Wildcats. Even in Vanderbilt’s down years, this is the one game on the schedule that the Commodores can reliably point to as a potential win.
Except for this year. Kentucky is suddenly good at this “football” thing; the Wildcats are 5-1 and ranked 14th in the country. They lost their last time out to Texas A&M two weeks ago, but they’re favored by 13 points in this one. S&P+ predicts a final score of 33-17, Kentucky.
This being Kentucky in October, game time temperatures are expected to be in the 50s and dropping into the 40s later in the game. This is what we call “football weather.” Can Vanderbilt come away with a win?
