MLB: Colorado Rockies at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

With the NL West title on the line, the Los Angeles Dodgers went to former Vanderbilt pitcher Walker Buehler, who shut down the Colorado Rockies for 6 23 innings and also added an RBI single to send the Dodgers into the NLDS. In the other one-game playoff, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs to win the NL Central.

That gives us... more baseball! The NL Wild Card playoff is tonight at 7 PM CT, with the Cubs hosting the Rockies.

Vanderbilt men’s golf sits in a tie for fifth place at the Nike Collegiate in Fort Worth after two rounds. The tournament concludes on Tuesday. Vanderbilt’s Mason Greenberg is in a tie for the individual lead at the end of two rounds.

Georgia’s Elijah Holyfield is for some reason motivated by the fact that Georgia lost to Vanderbilt in Athens two years ago. Which, hey, if you need a little extra motivation for a game in which you’re a 26.5-point favorite, go for it.

Former Vanderbilt DE Jonathan Wynn signed a practice squad deal with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

Oh look, the NCAA is being stupid.

Rob Dauster’s starting his college basketball season preview podcasts with the ACC preview, which I will promptly be listening to on the way to court today. Oh yeah, basketball season starts five weeks from today, in case you’re done with football season already.

Former Alabama coach Mike DuBose accidentally shot himself, which I am sure nobody will make any jokes about.
