Game 16: Tennessee Volunteers at Vanderbilt Commodores -- Game Thread

Let the hate run through you.

Brianna Paciorka-USA TODAY Sports

Your Vanderbilt Commodores look to recover from Saturday's loss to South Carolina by welcoming the Tennessee Volunteers to Memorial Gym at 8 PM CT. Tonight's game will be televised on the SEC Network and the WatchESPN app, with Dave Neal and Daymeon Fishback on the call. Joe Fisher's call, as always, can be found on the Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network.

With Vanderbilt sitting at 6-9, the easy thing to do would be to wait until November, when Darius Garland and Simi Shittu play their first games in a Vanderbilt uniform. But there are seasons to ruin, namely that of Tennessee. The Vols are currently 10-4 and ranked #24 in the AP poll, and that may actually be an understatement: KenPom has them at #16. KenPom predicts a 72-67 final score in the Vols' favor, with Vanderbilt being given a 34% chance of winning. The oddsmakers in Vegas currently have this as a 2-point spread in Tennessee's favor.

So, yes: taking an L to a 6-9 Vanderbilt team would be bad for Tennessee. Let's give them one. Anchor Down.
