The Vanderbilt Commodores’ 28-6 win over Middle Tennessee did not go unnoticed. Vanderbilt got three votes in the latest Coaches’ Poll, or the same number as the following teams:
-UCF, which beat FIU 61-17 on Thursday
-Houston, which had its game with UTSA postponed
-Arizona, which went 3-9 last year but beat Northern Arizona 62-24
-Texas, which went 5-7 and lost to Maryland at home 51-41
... okay, so that’s not too much respect to lump Vanderbilt in there with a team like Texas. But at least someone with a vote in the Coaches’ Poll noticed our destruction of Middle Tennessee and thinks we’re a Top 25 team.
Of course, it could be MTSU coach Rick Stockstill, who has a vote in the Coaches’ Poll. Another candidate is Derek Mason himself. Anyway, we at least know someone thinks Vanderbilt is a top 25 team, and it’s not us.
