The final piece of the Vanderbilt Commodores’ 2017-18 basketball schedule was announced on Thursday as the Southeastern Conference released its schedule for conference games.

Times and network television coverage will be announced at a later date, though all of Vanderbilt’s conference games will be carried on either an ESPN affiliate or the SEC Network, or possibly CBS.

For the second season in a row, Vanderbilt will open the conference schedule before New Year’s with a road trip to Florida on December 30. That’s followed by three home games in the next four, with Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky all coming to Memorial Gym sandwiched around a trip to South Carolina.

The Commodores will then have a week with a trip to Mississippi State followed by a home game against LSU, and then three SEC road games in a row (note: the Commodores will host TCU in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge during this stretch) at Tennessee, Kentucky, and Auburn. Vanderbilt will finish the season series against the Vols and the Wildcats before the end of January.

If Vanderbilt is fighting for a NCAA Tournament berth in February, the Commodores will be helped by a five-game stretch that includes four home games against Mississippi State, Florida, Texas A&M, and Missouri -- all of whom could be in contention for NCAA Tournament bids themselves. Missouri will be the Senior Night game, before the regular season finale at Ole Miss on March 3. The Commodores will then head to the SEC Tournament, which will be held in St. Louis from March 7-11.
