Tonight, at 6 PM CT, the Vanderbilt Commodores will continue their march toward Omaha as they take on the Clemson Tigers, Tim Corbin’s former employer and the regional host. The game will be carried on ESPNU and can also be streamed on the WatchESPN app. Audio with Joe Fisher is available on the Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network.
Around the country, and in the Clemson regional, today’s college baseball action starts at 11 AM CT. One of the 11 AM games is UNC Greensboro vs. St. John’s; should Vanderbilt lose tonight, they’ll face the winner of that game in an elimination game on Sunday.
Things got a little weird yesterday, as national #2 seed North Carolina lost its opener to 4-seed Davidson and now faces an elimination game against Michigan at noon CT. So, too, do a pair of regional hosts in Florida State (which lost to Tennessee Tech yesterday and faces possible elimination against UCF at 11 AM) and Houston (lost to Iowa, plays an elimination game against Baylor at 2 PM CT.) Stanford’s regional is a day ahead of everyone else, but the Cardinal will play an elimination game against BYU at 3 PM and, if they win that, will play another one against Cal State Fullerton, which beat them last night.
And if you feel like getting your ESS EEE SEE chants going, the conference went 7-1 yesterday, with only Mississippi State facing an elimination game today against Illinois-Chicago. The other seven teams in the regionals won their games yesterday.
