After his junior season, Vanderbilt C Jason Delay was drafted in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
But Delay returned to school, and his stock went up. The senior from Johns Creek, GA hit .309/.381/.444 with two homers and 41 RBI, and he also threw out 25 of 58 attempted base stealers in 2017.
That led to him being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fourth round of the 2017 MLB Draft on Tuesday. Without the option of returning to college, Delay should sign quickly and start on his professional career.
