A big anchor dropped on Tuesday night as Rockwall (TX) linebacker Alston Orji announced his commitment to Vanderbilt following the Yellowjackets’ spring game.
How big is this? Rivals has Orji rated as the #90 prospect in the Class of 2018, the #6 outside linebacker, and the #8 prospect in the state of Texas. 247 Sports rates him as the #178 prospect in the country and #7 inside linebacker, and ESPN rates him as the #14 outside linebacker in the Class of 2018. All three services rate Orji as a four-star recruit.
The 6’2”, 220-pound Orji reportedly runs a 4.56 40-yard dash and has a 44-inch vertical and a 315-pound bench press. Orji chose the Commodores over Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M. Here is Orji’s junior year highlight film:
Anchor Down, Alston.
