As it should be.

The football team may have gone 6-7 last year, and the basketball team just barely snuck into the tournament with a 19-16 record, but we own the SEC in the sports the country club cares about.

The women’s tennis team, ranked No. 2 nationally, won its second SEC title in three years with a 4-3 win over No. 1 Florida in Sunday’s finals. On Monday morning, the Commodores’ men’s golf team beat Texas A&M 3-2 in the match play final of the SEC Tournament in St. Simons Island, Georgia. The golfing Commodores are ranked No. 3 in the country and will be among the favorites to win the national championship.

Thus Vanderbilt claims its rightful place in the world: being good at golf and tennis. You’re welcome.
