It’s nearly that time of year; the magical Thursday-Friday corridor where you spend your work day watching college basketball and absolutely no one complains. The NCAA Tournament is just a week away, and against all odds a Vanderbilt team that was 12-13 three weeks ago is in the running for an at-large bid.
The Commodores still have to avoid an SEC Tournament flame out and could stand to pad their record with a few more quality wins before the Selection Committee goes to work, but Bryce Drew’s first season in Nashville has the potential to end on a high note. Vandy was two games under .500 in the middle of January before snapping off an 8-3 run to make an unlikely appearance on the at-large bubble. If the team can sneak into the field with 15 losses — or bully its way in with 14 and an SEC title — it would mark the first time the program has gone to back-to-back NCAAT appearances since 2012.
You’ll have the chance to project the ‘Dores all the way to the national title game in this year’s bracket challenge. We’re setting up our pick’em early this spring, in part to TOTALLY JINX EVERYTHING but mostly because our overlords asked us to do it Wednesday (and this is a sponsored post).
Here’s the link to join the league. All you need is a Yahoo! ID to play. If you’ve ever signed up for a fantasy game on their servers in the past, you’re all set:
