Florida cornerback Randall Haynie signs with Vanderbilt

The longtime commit stuck with Vanderbilt after taking official visits to Big Ten schools.

Randall Haynie, a 6’0”, 173-pound cornerback prospect from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, FL, signed a Letter of Intent with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday.

Haynie committed to the Commodores back in July, though he would take a couple of official visits to Indiana and Illinois in the fall. But he ultimately stayed in the fold for the Commodores. Per Hudl Haynie ran a 4.62 40-yard dash and also runs a 4.27 shuttle; the latter measures a prospect’s ability to cut and turn quickly, an important skill for a cornerback to have.

Here is Haynie’s senior year highlight film:

With Tre Herndon, Taurean Ferguson, and Joejuan Williams all returning in 2017, there might not be an opportunity for Haynie to get playing time as a freshman and he could redshirt. But he looks like he should see the field once Herndon is gone after 2017.
