Cole Clemens has officially signed his NLI, bringing his high-3 star talent to the Vanderbilt offensive line. Y’all will remember Cole from his impressive Hudl video we were swooning over when he gave his commitment back in December. Cole also had offers from BYU, Utah and Virginia.
From South Jordan, UT, Cole is a hoss at 6’5” and 286 pounds. He’s a little lower than the 300-320 “ideal” side of a OT, but what matters here is athleticism. I’d rather him be a little lighter and have the speed you need. You don’t want an OT that is too fat or he’ll just be tired too quickly. His 40-time is listed at 5.32, and Shuttle time is at 4.82. This is on par with the times put up at the 2016 combine.
The edge speed is going to be big. With his athleticism he’s going to likely be trusted to pick up a lot of blitzes from the outside and with his talent he can make an immediate contribution. Oh, and by the way, he’s only gonna pack on more muscle, so give it a year or so and he’s going to be an absolute beast. Get excited.
Welcome to the Vanderbilt family, Cole!
