Game 13: Vanderbilt Commodores at Florida Gators — Open Game Thread

Vanderbilt is a 9-point underdog in Gainesville today.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Today at 3:00 PM CT, your Vanderbilt Commodores open SEC play against the Florida Gators. Today’s game will be televised on ESPN2 and can be streamed on the WatchESPN app.

Vanderbilt is currently 5-7, but ranked 68th in KenPom after easy wins over Houston Baptist and Alcorn State. Florida was ranked in the top ten earlier in the season but is now 8-4 and has fallen out of the top 25 entirely; they’re currently 34th in KenPom. KP projects a final score of 75-67, with the Commodores having a 22% chance of winning outright.

Most importantly, however, Vanderbilt has won five in a row against Florida. Bryce Drew has never lost to the Gators, and Florida head coach Mike White has never beaten Vanderbilt. Mike White has never beaten Bryce Drew, and that includes a 70-69 loss to Valpo when Mike White was a player at Ole Miss. I couldn’t resist throwing in that little tidbit, Red Cup Rebellion.
